GROWING WITH THE SCRIPTURES

I am a student of the School of Spirituality and Inner Healing at the St. Joseph's Prayer Center in Patchogue, New York. This school is one of the schools supported by The Society of Our Lady of Guadalupe. I have completed one year of the school's two year program. The school has exceeded all of my expectations. The program is exceptional on every level, it is multi-faceted, but yet very simplistic in its design. I am completely in awe over the mastery of the program director, Fr. James Wheeler, and I have great admiration for the advisors who gracefully offer professional guidance, proficient wisdom and comforting support.

The most instrumental component of the program is the use of scripture which has taught me the value of allowing scripture to guide me in daily reflection, meditation and prayer. The techniques that are recommended have taught me to create a daily practice that concisely combines, scripture reading, meditation and prayer. As a direct result of this practice, I have experienced a profound sense of inner healing and at the same time, a higher degree of spiritual maturity.

My newfound "spiritual maturity" has enabled me to bring my love for God and my religion deeper into my daily life. I can see positive changes in the way I relate to others. I find myself being of greater assistance to others and more confident in the way I can share my faith.

If the Vatican's approval can in some way increase the exposure of this program to more Catholics; I think it would be a great service to the church. If there is one thing I can say about the focus of this program and what it has instilled in me, through the subtle healing I experienced, it is a richer understanding and deeper value of the Word of Jesus and the meaning of the life of Jesus. If this program can be used as a means to touch the souls of others, as it has touched mine, I humbly support any and all efforts to endorse this program.
