The Misericordia de Jesús Prayer Center, established in Guadalajara, Jalisco on September 1996, is part of a secular society committed to church called “Our lady of Guadalupe’s society” founded in 1983 in New York, U.S.A., by R. P. James J. Wheeler, S.J. and integrated by three centers in U.S.A, eight in Mexico, one in Spain and one in Costa Rica.
In the city of Guadalajara, it was started by Mrs. Emma Fernández, Ramona Castro and Irma Magaña who invited Mrs. Marie and Elia Barnetche Pous to give the first “CODEPENDENCY” workshop.
Later two groups were formed: the Emma and Ramona group who stayed in Guadalajara, where they gather every week at Emma’s house to pray and work on their healing process through the book and manual “Quiero ser libre” (I want to be free) (Codependency) and the Rebeca Gutiérrez Nieto and Irma Magaña´s group, who went each week to Mexico City to take all the workshops in their personal process.
Two years later, in Puebla, the four of them concide and Ramona suggested to open a Praying Center in Guadalajara, for which Mrs. Marie Barnetche summon them in México City to give them the guidance on how to form the center.
And the first request was to take “Wheeler I” and have a minimum of 17 people who were interested in the same process. A year after, it was authorized to teach “CODEPENDENCY” and from then on until now, with the workshops that we will mention later.
